Every month, The Salesboom.com Team in collaboration with customers and partners releases this “Tips of the Month” series. We hope it will be helpful, enjoy.

The use of Ajax notes will speed up data entry dramatically!
Use the Layout Editor to customize pages.

While viewing a record in the Salesboom.com CRM platform (i.e. Lead), you can now add a note to the record without ever leaving the record's view page. The old way of entering notes into a record can still be done by:

  1. clicking “Add Note (standard)” in the summary on the records view page
  2. after clicked a new page loads containing the Note’s submit form
  3. after filling out and submitting the contents the Note’s view page appears
  4. you are now forced to click “back” twice to return to the original record

Salesboom.com has made this process much easier and faster with the advancements of Ajax technology.

To do this:

  1. in the record's view page, the summary section appears where it says “Add a Record”
  2. the first link seen is old way called “Add Note (standard)”
  3. the second link is the new streamlined Ajax way called “Add Note”
  4. click this link and a non-intrusive pop-up appears with the Note’s form
  5. enter all the data you wish and submit the note
  6. it is added to the record without ever leaving the original records view page, no more clicking “back”!

This Ajax tool has gained great popularity since its introduction with its ability to cut down on the amount of “refreshes” and “back clicks”, ultimately saving you time and headaches as you enter data in your CRM.

In the Salesboom.com suite, an administrator or a designated user has the ability to control where and what fields appear on the records view page, by using a drag-n-drop interface in the Control Panel. This can be done by:

  1. login to Salesboom.com as the Administrator to gain access
  2. once logged in continue on to the “Control Panel”
  3. here click the “Customize Page Layouts” Tab
  4. from here you can choose what record type you want to customize the layout of, for example, “Customize Accounts Page Layout”
  5. once finished click "save" and your done!

You now have the ability to drag-n-drop any field to any section on the page you are viewing without refreshing!

You can even set the level of security for a field by dragging non-required fields to the “Hidden” section, doing this will cause the fields not to show up on the records screen. Once you have finished customizing the fields, click “save” to finish allowing everyone in the company to see the changes you’ve made live with real-time updates.
